Aerial Fabric Acrobatics

Aerial Fabric is a Denver-based acrobatic troupe available for performances at parties and events. We have been teaching and performing aerial acts since 2001.

what is aerial?

Although we are named for only one of the aerial disciplines, we specialize in several.

Aerial fabric, or tissu, has become well known through Cirque du Soleil although it is many decades old. The performer climbs a suspended piece of fabric usually 35-40 feet high. They use no safety lines relying only on their training and skill to ensure safety. The performer uses the fabric to wrap, suspend, swing, and spiral their body into and out of intriguing positions in a fluid athletic and artistic style. Performed above the audience, the acts are usually a showcase of athleticism and emotional theater.

Bungee trapeze has also gained notoriety in Cirque du Soleil. The performer is strapped into a harness suspended by elastic bungee cords usually 20 feet or more above the ground. They use the bungee as a virtual trampoline to perform summersaults, flips, arches, and other tricks high in the air. Sometimes they use a trapeze bar high in the air as a home point balancing static positions with dynamic tricks.

Hoop, or circeaux, uses a steel hoop about 3 feet in diameter suspended at any height. The performer uses the hoop as a prop to support contortion and positional tricks.
